Newbold Church of England Primary School

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The staff, governors and I are very pleased that you are interested in our school and hope very much that you enjoy reading about the life we all share here. If any of your queries are left unanswered then please feel free to contact me at school.

Newbold Church of England Primary School is a church school with close links to the St. John the Evangelist situated on St. John’s Road. We are committed to providing a stimulating, caring and Christian learning environment.

It is our goal to provide high quality education in which children are actively encouraged to achieve their potential. Our staff work closely together to ensure that our curriculum is both broad and balanced and allows every child to shine.

We invest in excellence by encouraging the children to believe in themselves. Positive language is used at all times, even when circumstances demand chastisement and this ensures that all the children in our care learn to respect themselves, care for others and for their environment.

Parents are partners in the education of their children and we value your support. You are warmly welcomed into our classrooms either to help the whole class, or to discuss how you may help your child at home.

We look forward to working with you in the best interests of your child and very much hope that this will be the beginning of a successful and enjoyable association between you, your child and our school.

The School

We are a school whose foundation is solidly built on the teachings of Christ’s Gospel and our aims for our school community reflect these values.

Within the contexts of the Christian faith:-

  • We provide a happy and secure learning environment for all our children in which to grow and achieve their true potential, academically, physically, socially and spiritually.

  • We provide an environment where our children can develop independence, interdependence, self-confidence and self esteem.

  • We provide a stimulating learning environment where our children can develop lively, inquiring minds and enjoy learning.

  • We offer all our children equal access to a broad and balanced curriculum.

  • We meet every child’s needs, extending individual talents and helping to overcome special difficulties.

  • We foster respect for each other. We expect every member of our community to show care and consideration for others and to be kind and polite to everyone.

  • We endeavour to work in full partnership with parents, recognising that they are the child’s first teachers and can offer invaluable help in understanding the needs of the individual.

  • We hope to play a full part in our local community and make full use of our local environment.

  • We want our children to leave us excited at the prospect of the challenges offered by their secondary school.

  • We are committed to a programme of professional development for all our staff, which will ultimately enhance the learning opportunities for our children.
