WELCOME
We offer you a very warm welcome to North Bromsgrove High School. This is a school which is committed to high standards of work and high standards of conduct. The school is known for the its high expectation of all who work here and for the quality and diversity of its extra curricular activites. We are constantly seeking ways to improve what we do for the benefit of our pupils and students.
If you would like to visit North on a normal working day to see the school in action, we would be delighted to meet you. Please telephone the school office, 01527 872375, to arrange an appointment.

Our School
North Bromsgrove is a 13-18 mixed Comprehensive High School with about 1100 students and a total teaching and non-teaching staff of over 100. The school caters for pupils in the northern part of Bromsgrove and the surrounding rural areas but draws a number of students from beyond its catchment.
This year we are celebrating our move into a brand new school.
Expectations and Achievement
At North Bromsgrove High School we are very proud of our pupils and of the way that they commit themselves to their work. We challenge all pupils to achieve beyond their initial expectations, and we monitor their progress to ensure that they achieve their termly targets. At the heart of our Behaviour Policy is the statement that 'everyone will act with courtesy and consideration to others at all times'. We monitor each pupil's academic and behaviour record, and move quickly to address any concerns.
The Sixth Form - Years 12 and 13
We are justifiably proud of our 6th Form who are ambassadors for both the school and the local community. The 6th Form is viewed as an exciting transition period between the world of compulsory schooling and higher education or employment. Returning to the 6th Form is a popular choice with North pupils. The 6th Form has its own accommodation; the students wear smart formal clothes instead of school uniform. The curriculum is designed to offer academic and core enrichment opportunities for all students. A tutorial programme offers guidance and advice to support studies on academic and career matters.
Outside The Classroom
We believe that extra-curricular activities form an extremely important part of school life. We believe that learning does not only take place in the formal classroom. Opportunities to work as part of a team, to see and work with adults other than teachers and to research and discover the real world are fundamentally important parts of modern education.
Sport
North Bromsgrove has a strong sporting tradition, and sport has been the pride of the school for many years. All pupils are actively encouraged to participate and compete at District, Regional and National levels in numerous activities. The school boasts County representatives in all major sports as well as some newly introduced activities. The success enjoyed at District, County, Regional and National level is evidence of the immense sporting talent that the students of North Bromsgrove High School possess. School clubs and fixtures are a major strength of the PE department. Pupils are encouraged to attend for competition, recreation, relaxation and leisure. Clubs are held for all ages during lunchtimes and after school and currently include football, netball, rugby, basketball, badminton, hockey, tennis, cricket, rounders, baseball, golf, archery, orienteering, skiing, athletics, cross-country, cheerleading, table tennis and dance. |
