"We welcome all parents, children, families and friends of Oaklands Infant School to our website, which we hope will inform, enlighten and entertain you!"
Julie Sheppard, Head Teacher.

This is not compulsory, but the majority of parents do feel that they prefer their children to wear uniform. Most department stores stock ranges of clothing suitable for school wear. All items of clothing should be clearly marked. The PTA supply sweatshirts, cardigans, fleece jackets and PE Kit. A price list and order forms for these can be found in the school entrance hall or by clicking on the links below.

Admission Policy

Visits to Oaklands Infant School by prospective parents are encouraged. A mutually convenient time will the be arranged for a discussion with the Headteacher and the opportunity to look round the school.

Although it is usual to apply to the school which serves your area first, you may apply for other schools. A list of the roads and plan of the school's designated area are shown on the links below. If a place is refused, parents have the right to appeal. Applications to the school are considered by the Local Authority on an annual basis, prior to the year of entry. Please telephone Wokingham LEA on 0118 974 6245/6146/6113 to request an application form and a Parents' Guide to Primary School Admissions. For entry in 2007/2008, we advise that forms are with them by 9 February 2007. Admissions will then confirm allocated places on 30 March 2007.

The following criteria, in order of priority, apply to the allocation of places:

1) Children with statements of special educational needs where the school is named in their statement.
2) Looked after children for whom the Local Authority acts as parent.
3) Children whose permanent home address is in the school's designated area.
4) Children who have brothers or sisters attending the school.
5) Children who have strong medical or social grounds for admission.
6) Children whose parents have any other reason for their choice.
