Welcome to Parkhill Primary

Parkhill Primary School is situated in the south west of Leven, close to the main shopping centre. The main building dates from 1910 and several huts have been added over the years to accommodate the increasing school population. The present school roll is 320 and the children are organised into 12 classes, 9 discrete classes and 3 composite.

Staff and pupils work hard to ensure that displays and artwork make the rooms and public areas look attractive. Many visitors comment on the warm, welcoming atmosphere within the school.

At present we are running six after-school clubs:

P4 Drama Club- led by volunteer Gordon Bonnar.
P5 Science Club- led by Mrs Fraser.
P6 Computing Club- led by Mrs Sinclair.
P7 Writing Club- led by Mrs Graham.
Music Club- led by Mrs Hayes.
Modern Languages Club- led by Mrs Ortmann.

In addition the school also offers the following physical activities:

Aerobics- led by parent Tessa McAndrew
Netball- led by Mrs Brown
Football- led by Mr Morrison

The pupil council meet regularly with pupils acting as chair, vice-chairman and secretary. Elections for new office bearers will take place early next session. Mrs Fraser sits in on these meetings to offer advice and ensure things move smoothly.

Last session, the pupil council organised and ran a Healthy Tuck Shop, the profits from which bought maths games for every stage in the school. Pupils were also involved in choosing play equipment purchased through the Sainsbury's Active Kids scheme.

The council comprises of one pupil elected from each class P4-7 and other P7s who act as representatives for each of the younger classes. Representatives are responsible for raising issues highlighted in class meetings and then passing information discussed at council back to their classmates.
