Parley First is of slightly larger than average size for a school of this type. There are 265 boys and girls on roll, aged from 4 to 9. There are gender imbalances, especially in the current Year 2, where there are 40 boys and 20 girls. Most pupils come from the surrounding area, although an increasing number are now coming from Bournemouth.

The school has been awarded Investors in People status, the Basic Skills Quality Mark, the Healthy Schools Award and in 2003 received a School Achievement Award.

At present there is the opportunity for children to participate in:

French Club (Le Club Francais)*
Sportscene Football*
Touch Typing Class*
Computer Club (Thursday and Friday lunchtimes)

*These are run by outside agencies so there is a small charge each term.

Year 4 children are offered the opportunity to participate in developing off-road cycling skills usually run during the Easter holidays. Football and Netball is usually offered during lunchtimes.

Whenever the opportunity arises new clubs will be arranged.
