PARLEY FIRST SCHOOL AIMS

At Parley School we aim to provide:

High quality education for every child
A strong home-school partnership
A safe and caring environment.

The School will

Contact parents if there is a problem with attendance, punctuality or equipment.
Let parents know about any concerns or problems that affect their child's work or behaviour.
Send home an annual report.
Provide homework relevant to the age and needs of the child.
Arrange for opportunities to meet teachers regularly during which work and progress will be discussed.
Keep parents informed about school activities through regular letters home and notices about special events.
Listen to and discuss parents concerns.

The Parents

I/We shall try to:

See that my child goes to school regularly on time and properly equipped.
Let the school know about any concerns or problems that might affect my child's work or behaviour.
Support the school's policies and guidelines for behaviour.
Support my child in homework and other opportunities for home learning.
Attend parent's evening and discussions about my child's progress.
Get to know about my child's life at the school.

Contacting the School

Mrs Rowley, our Administrative Officer can arrange appointments, provide information and advice concerning purchasing of uniform, holidays and other general procedures.
The class teacher is the first point of contact for concerns regarding your child.
Miss Eyre, the Deputy Head teacher, will meet with parents either by appointment or in an emergency, at short notice.  Please contact Mrs Rowley for an appointment.
Governors can be contacted through Mrs Rowley the clerk of the governors and parent governors.

ADMISSION TO PARLEY FIRST SCHOOL

Our school admits children between the age of 4 and 9 (Reception to Year 4) in accordance with Dorset Education Authority policy.  Priority is given to families living in or transferring to the area normally served by our school.

In-area and out-of-area applications can be found in the School Brochure pack or obtained from the school’s office.

THE FERNDOWN PYRAMID OF SCHOOLS

Our school is proud to belong to the Ferndown Pyramid of Schools.  The Ferndown Pyramid is a well established community providing a rich environment for each stage of learning.  Close liaison between the schools ensures continuity and progression within the curriculum when children move on to their next school.
