Equip pupils with the academic skills and social attributes to meet the demands of today's world. Maintain an environment where children can develop self-discipline, responsibility and self-motivation. To provide a curriculum that stimulates and challenges children to produce their best.

Pearson Primary School has a variety of lunchtime and after school clubs every week for children to participate in.

Last year, children joined in with clubs such as Art and Craft club, Colouring club, Dance club, Sign Language club and more.

***We all agree that it is great to see children here all wearing their school uniform. Second hand sweatshirts can be purchased from the school office for £1.00 as well as buying new sweatshirts for the regular price.***

How can you help your child at home?

There are many ways that you can help your children at home, from working through basic maths skills (such as adding and subtracting) to listening to your child read their school reading book. This page is designed to give ideas to Parents and Carers so that they can help children to continue to learn at home.

At Pearson Primary School, we have designed Curricular Targets and Family Challenges to make learning fun and to continue learning after school ends for the day.

At Pearson Primary School we offer support in a number of ways for a number of different reasons.

Bullying and unwelcomed behaviour towards others.

Any case of potential bullying that we are aware of will be followed up by teaching staff and our Emotional Well Being Worker. We like to think that at Pearson Primary School we try and ensure that children enjoy their time at our school and therefore will try our hardest to avoid children being unhappy here.

As long as we are aware of any situation, we will do our best to sort any situation. Please make the school aware of any situation that has made your child unhappy or upset and we will follow this up as quickly as possible.

Gifted and Telented Children/More Able Pupils.

At Pearson Primary School we make as many provisions as possible to meet the needs of our More Able Pupils. We are aware that these pupils have special needs which need to be met. Wherever possible, teachers will extend these pupils thinking (related to the topic) with additional and challenging work to meet their needs.

Every term, each class has a target for Literacy and Numeracy. This is a goal that the whole class are working towards achieving together.
There are usually two targets for Literacy (one for reading and one for writing), and one for Mathematics.

Throughout a week, some time within lessons is given to focussing on the targets. Progress will then be evaluated and at the end of the term, each child's progress will be reported to the relevant subject leader.

Why are we doing this?

At Pearson Primary School we are committed to raising standards for all children.

By using curricular targets, your child should know what they are aiming towards and can be in control of their own learning.

Parents and carers will also be aware of the targets which will help following up work at home.

At Pearson Primary School we always try to teach all lessons - including curricular targets in a fun and creative way.

Children in Pearson Primary School are working towards meeting these targets. Help your children to understand their multiplication tables by counting with them in twos or fives, or you could ask them different multiplication sentences and work with them to find the answer...
