Our school may at first seem a very large one, but it is also a unique school in that our Year 7 and 8 students enjoy the first two years of their secondary education on their own well-equipped campus. Having developed their confidence and their study habits, they are able to transfer to Year 9 to an environment at the Fambridge Road Campus where they can further develop as self-disciplined and independent learners. The size of our school enables us to offer a tremendous range of courses at examination level and it is an excellent reflection on the school that the vast majority of our students choose to move on into our very successful Post-16 College to continue their studies where they are joined by an increasing number of students from other schools.
With a full staffing compliment of enthusiastic and well qualified teachers, I believe that our school has an exciting future to offer your children. I do hope that you will want to come and visit The Plume in order to see our school, talk to staff and, most importantly, talk to students about their school.
At Plume we have decided to produce our yearly prospectus in an electronic format. Many schools will produce a costly, glossy brochure that soon becomes outdated in the ever changing environment that the school represents. We would rather spend our budget on teachers and resources to help our students, so we send all parents of Year 6 students a copy of our Governors report and are very happy to provide a paper copy of this prospectus to anyone who requests it.
I do hope that you will be able to visit the school and I look forward to meeting you at Open Evening or at one of our transition events.
