At Primet Primary School, our intention is to use the National Curriculum to help our children to realise their maximum potential in preparation for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.

  • creating a happy school environment;
  • encouraging children to develop an awareness of self and a sensitivity to others, encouraging them to acquire good moral values and helping them to develop self-discipline, co-operation and acceptable behaviour;
  • fostering a command of basic English and an ability to use language with which to communicate accurately;
  • encouraging an enjoyment of reading;
  • encouraging children to have confidence in working with numbers and relating mathematics to the real world;
  • encouraging scientific curiosity and skills through the local environment, industry and commerce;
  • awakening an awareness of the wider world and relationships within it through historical and geographical topics;
  • giving children the skills needed to enable them to express themselves creatively in art, music, drama and movement;
  • encouraging an appreciation of beautiful things;
  • providing an opportunity for children to develop their skills in P.E., dance and games and fostering a respect for the physical well being of themselves and those around them;
  • providing opportunities, which allow children to develop religious understanding through a study of Christianity and other faiths;
  • giving children technological experience through practical opportunities;
  • helping children appreciate human achievement and aspiration;
  • embracing Lancashire County Council policy regarding equal opportunities for all;
  • establishing an environment in which teaching and non-teaching staff, school governors, advisory colleagues, parents and future parents can work with each other for the successful achievement of these aims.
