Dear Parents/Carers

Welcome to Ridge Meadow Primary School. Everyone within the school has worked hard to achieve the happy atmosphere that I am sure you will feel as soon as you come into the building. Our main aim is to encourage all our children to develop their full potential both academically and socially. We believe that if our children are to achieve this, it is our job to provide them with a setting in which they feel safe, secure and valued.

If you have any queries about this websites content please do not hesitate to contact us.

At Ridge Meadow we strive to do our best for each and every child in our care. We are always happy to discuss any concerns you may have and would encourage you to come into school to see us.

Yours sincerely

Mrs C Scott

THE SCHOOL DAY

The school day starts at 8.55am and finishes at 3.30pm. The morning bell is rung at 8.55am in order that the children can be ready to begin work at 9.00am. Our nursery sessions run from 911.30am. Children in this class attend on a part time basis for the morning session.

Infant lunch break is from 12.00 noon to 1.10pm; there is a mid-morning break from 10.20 - 10.40am and another during the afternoon at 2.15—2.30pm.

Junior lunch break is from 12.20—1.20pm with a mid-morning break from 10.20—10.35am.

Children should not arrive before 8.45am, as the school cannot be responsible for them before that time.

Whilst parents are always welcome, we would ask that they report to the school office first for obvious security reasons.

UNIFORM

Please encourage your child to wear school uniform as we feel it helps them to develop a pride in themselves and their school. Whilst the wearing of uniform is not compulsory, we do ask parents to support us in this matter. Our uniform consists of grey or black trousers or skirt, a white shirt or blouse and an emerald green jumper or school sweatshirt. Sweatshirts, cardigans and polo shirts can be purchased at school, the price list can be found below and on the school notice board

No jewellery may be worn to school with the exception of stud style earrings.

We have received LEA guidance to avoid the problem of accidents with the dropper/bangle/hoops style earrings and have been advised that for Health and Safety reasons, the only acceptable earrings are the small stud style and these must be removed for PE lessons. Therefore, it is important for all children to be able to remove/replace their own ear rings. Younger children may need to leave earrings at home on PE days.
