Riverhead Infants` School

Our School

We are a large Infants' School which in 2002 moved into a brand new state of the art building on the outskirts of Riverhead Village.  We have 270 children on our roll aged from 4½ to 7 years old.

Our school has an exciting futuristic design.  The roof of our school has sedum on it - its colour is constantly changing throughout the year from green to pink and purple; click on the picture for a larger view.  Inside there is plenty of space for our nine classes, hall, ICT suite, library and offices.

The School is set in its own grounds.  At the back of the school, away from the noise of the A25, we have a large playing field, playground and environmental area.  Next to us are; a cricket ground, parkland and fields which sometimes have ponies grazing in them.

Please take time to explore our website which contains a lot more information about us.  We have a tour to show you of what our school looks like, work from our children, latest news and letters, a section covering frequently asked questions, school prospectus, information about our PTA and Governors and much more...

CLUBS

There are various clubs running each week - some open to all 3 year groups, others for Year One and Year Two and some for Year Two.  Some are language clubs, one is to learn the skill of taking part and it's ok to lose and some are sporting!

French Club is open to Years One and Two.  Year Two have their lessons on Monday at lunchtime and Year One have theirs on Friday at lunchtime.  The lessons are organised and run by Mrs. Stewart.  Her contact details can be found at the School Office.

Spanish Club is open to years One and Two and the club is run on Wednesday lunchtimes by Mrs. Platt.  The contact details for this club can be found in the School Office.

Football Club runs for two terms each year, the Winter and Spring, on Mondays after school from 3:15 to 4:15pm.  This club is open to Year Twos only.  The club runs on two blocks of ten weeks.  Each course is £35.  The club is run by Mr. Mann and is organised by Miss Davidson.  A letter is sent to each Year Two pupil in the Autumn term and at the start of the Spring term asking for pupils to register for the club.  There are twenty places in the club and these are allocated on a first come, first served basis.  More information can be given to you by Miss Davidson.

Tennis Club runs throughout the year on Wednesday evenings, 3:15-4:15pm, in the school hall.  The club is open to Year Twos only.  Miss Salmon runs the club and Miss Davidson organises it.  Every September a letter is sent out asking pupils to register their interest.  Miss Davidson puts their names on a list and the first eight become the players for the first half term (blocks of five lessons) and the next eight play before Christmas and so on.  The five week course costs £15.  More information can be given to you via Miss Davidson.

Recorder/Ocarina Club runs throughout the year on Monday evenings, 3:15-4:00pm, in the school hall.  The club is open to Year Twos only.
