ABOUT US

We at Roby Mill CE Primary School aim to help each child to develop his or her full potential with skills, knowledge, attitudes and values which relate to our ever changing world. Prayer and worship are central to school life with the school community contributing to the spiritual and moral growth of the pupils as well as to their intellectual and physical development.

We encourage all members of our school community – pupils, staff, parents, and governors to try to be caring and sharing in both happy and sad times.

We aim to nurture the belief within the children that all their talents are precious gifts from God and as such they must use them to the best of their ability, in all areas of the curriculum, to enrich their own lives and the lives of those around them.

AIMS

  • To provide a positive and supportive atmosphere of mutual respect where pupils learn to live and work together.
  • To promote the highest academic standards in all aspect of the curriculum by ensuring that all pupils develop to their best potential.
  • To promote individual self-esteem for pupils and prepare them for the future through the provision of stimulating opportunities delivered through the provision of stimulating opportunities delivered through a holistic curriculum.
  • To establish an environment within our school in which all who attend and work here can feel safe and secure. It must be a place where everyone associated with the school is valued.

CURRICULUM

The school curriculum embodies the requirements of the National Curriculum. The curriculum is network of wide-ranging experiences, which provides the context in which children learn and to which all children are equally entitled.

These experiences are a product of whole school planning and the commitment of the whole staff so that experiences provided are broad, rich and relevant and cater for the individual needs of the children throughout school.

The school works as a partnership with home, to ensure that each child achieves and recognises success in a motivating and stimulating environment, differentiating the work where and when appropriate.

CLUBS

There are school Clubs, Musical Instrument groups (recorder/clarinet/flute). Parents are encouraged to participate in school life. Some parents help with accompanying pupils to swimming, listening to pupils read or play educational games. Throughout the school academic year various educational visits may be arranged. There is a school library service and children on a weekly basis choose and (lend) a library book to take home and share with their family.
