Rufford Primary school is a purpose built school for 3-11 year old pupils. The standard number of admission for each year is 45 but will become 30 in September 2007. The School is made up of 3 main areas:
Foundation Stage
The building houses pupils in the Foundation Stage i.e. 3-5 year old pupils. It comprises of three classrooms for Nursery and Reception with a shared area and toilet/cloakroom facilities. An outside area, aimed specifically at Foundation Stage Pupils, is linked to the block. Nursery pupils attend on a part time basis i.e. either morning or afternoon and are accepted on the waiting list at any time. They may attend Nursery for a possible 4 terms before they start school. Statutory Schooling commences in the term that pupils reach their fifth birthday. There are two intakes in each academic year.
September For pupils whose fifth birthday between 1st September and 28th / 29th February
January For pupils whose fifth birthday falls between 1st March and 31st August
Extended In Induction available to older pupils prior to the term they begin full time school.
Main Buildings
Thus area of the school houses six classrooms, ICT/Library suite, toilets, Hall and Administration areas. The classrooms are large and well furnished, and the corridors are brightened and cheerful. The hall is large and is used for a range of activities, including PE, assemblies, dinning and school functions. Within the administration are you will find the Head teachers office, Administration Office and Staff room.
Mobile
The third are of school is made up of mobile units. We have one block of three classrooms, one single classroom and a multi-purpose Community room.
All areas of the school are well decorated and inviting for children and show Rufford as a bright, cheerful and comfortable environment.
