Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School
Heys Street, Thornton Cleveleys, FY5 4HL, UK Blackpool
+44 (0)1253 821392

Sacred Heart is a small Catholic Primary School which serves the local community and provides a high quality education to children aged 4-11 years. Whilst most of our children come from the village we have an increasing number of children who come from further afield.

We believe that an all round education is important for development. Children have access to a high quality education in all subjects covered by the National Curriculum, together with opportunities for creative, sporting and cultural activities. The school boasts a large playing field and substantial garden areas, which surround the area.

We at Sacred Heart are very proud of our school and are sure that your child will be happy here. We wish to develop your child intellectually, spiritually, morally and physically, to fulfil their true potential.

Our school enjoys close links with Sacred Heart Parish. The church is situated on Heys Street next to the school. Children attend the church for class masses and feast days. First Communion is also celebrated there. The children have close links with the church and the parishioners. Parishioners are invited to school events such as Stations of the Cross and our Nativity Plays. At Christmas the school choir performs for the parishioners at a special event in the Bamber Room. Parishioners really enjoyed this with the children providing refreshments and a lovely performance organised by Mrs. Upton.

We provide a range of extra curricular activities across both key stages. As a small school working with the local community is vital if we are to provide varying activities.

Our school competes against other schools in netball, football and cross country. Also in the Inter-Schools Quiz, the Maths Challenge and singing competitions.

Clubs are run on a rolling programme to provide variety and opportunities for all ages to become involved.
