Welcome to Sampford Peverell CE Primary School

Sampford Peverell CE Primary School provides a vibrant learning environment where all children are provided with opportunities to succeed. We aim to develop children as learners in both academic areas as well as socially. At our school we are aiming to give your children an uninterrupted education with smooth transitions from each stage.

  • To be a happy, welcoming, interesting, supporting, challenging and fun place for us all.
  • To feel safe and secure in our surroundings
  • To embrace lifelong learning for all.
  • To deliver broad and balanced curriculum that prepares us all for our future lives.
  • To value the individual and encourage each child to develop to their full potential.
  • To create a loving and caring community, based on core Christian values.
  • To respect everyone and promote achievements by all.
  • To be a school where all those working in it are proud of their role and association with the school.
  • To communicate our aims and plans clearly to everyone involved, in order to achieve our vision.
  • To promote continuous improvement through self evaluation.

At Sampford we plan carefully for the whole curriculum. The five core areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Information & Communication Technology and Religious Education are given priority. The foundation subjects are Art, Design and Technology, History, Geography, Music, Physical Education and Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE). Children in Key Stage 2 are also taught French. We believe our curriculum should be broad and balanced and as creative as we can make it. We also aim to teach our children how to grow into positive, responsible people who can work and co-operate with others while developing knowledge and skills so that they can achieve their full potential.

We have a good learning environment that reflects practice that is always aware of the needs of each child, explores learning strategies and experiences to support the range of need as pupils move through each developmental stage.
