Our School

There are no strangers here, just friends we have yet to meet

St Anne Line Junior School was opened in 1964 to serve the Catholic families living in the West side of Basildon and those living in Wickford & Laindon.  It is a voluntary aided school, its upkeep part paid by the governors and part by Essex County Council.

The school has eight teaching areas arranged in three groups around an attractive quadrangle.  The school is set next to its own playing fields.  The Catholic Church of Holy Trinity is only a short walk from the school.

ETHOS

At St Anne Line it is our aim to create an atmosphere in which every child is secure enough to develop their potential on the moral, spiritual, academic and social aspects of their life journey, using Christ's example as a torch to shine the way.  We want our school to be a true community, working together for the good of each member of God's family reaching out into the wider world.

The underlying aim of this document is that attendance at this school will help children to become well-balanced individuals, ready to meet the challenges of their personal future and also the 21st Century.

Our Mission Statement is as follows:

Valuing Christianity, Valuing Individuals

Valuing Community, Valuing Achievement

Valuing the Future.

There are no strangers here, just friends we have yet to meet.

If you want to find out more about our community and way we hope to fulfil our philosophy, phone for a copy of our complete Mission Statement.

CURRICULUM

At St Anne Line Junior School, we have devised a curriculum map which shows progression through the year groups.  Each year group shows links to ICT and Speaking & Listening.  This curriculum map will eventually show links to the new Primary Framework for Literacy & Numeracy which we introduced in September 2007 so please keep visiting!

CLUBS

We have a number of extra-curricular clubs running before and after school as well as lunchtime.

Our sporting clubs include football, short tennis, basketball, Zones for Year three, netball and gymnastics.

A library club runs daily at lunchtimes for all year groups and there is a homework club on a Monday after school.

Other clubs include gardening, Radio St Anne Line, Student Council and our well-established choir.

For more information on these clubs, please contact the school office who will put you in touch with the teacher in charge.
