Welcome to Saint Benedict Catholic School
Mission Statement
At Saint Benedict School we will build up a loving community with Christ at its centre; develop potential to the full and strive for excellence; work and play in harmony; treat each other with dignity and justice.
We believe that there will be an ever-growing need for all people to continue to learn throughout their lives. Above all, therefore, we wish to encourage all our pupils to enjoy learning and to have open-minded attitudes towards their development as people.
We also aim to develop a caring Christian community in which people have respect for each other; provide an excellent education so that pupils can reach the goals they set themselves, both in their personal lives and in their careers; help pupils appreciate people’s achievements in art, music, drama, science, technology and literature; help pupils understand their strengths and weaknesses and develop qualities such as motivation and self discipline, which will help make the most of their qualities; assist pupils in understanding the world around them so that as adults they will be able to take part in and contribute to it fully.
We believe that our Catholic school is an extension of both the parish and the home and so we also aim to help our pupils know and better understand Catholic principles; develop their sacramental, liturgical and prayer experience; continue to develop a Christian conscience. This is developed within the context of the pupils’ own faith background. |
