St Catherine's V.A. Primary School

Welcome to our school web site. We are very proud of our lovely school and hope you enjoy finding out about it.

The life of our Catholic school is firmly rooted in gospel values.

We aim to provide a unique environment of love and care in which every member of our school community can grow as a whole person and develop his/ her potential to the full.

As you browse through our site, you will discover that we provide a wide and stimulating curriculum to encourage every child to sparkle.

If you want to find out even more, why not pay us a visit and see us in action?

Halina Richards

We have a number of methods of communication between school and parents at St Catherine's. Please click on the blue link buttons for further details.

An active Parent Council meet in a regular basis to discuss matters of school life. These are volunteer parents who have agreed to represent their respective year groups at this forum.

The Parents Association are another group of parents who meet to discuss and organise fund raising events for the school.

Introduction

The Parents Association is a group of volunteers who work together, organising events for the parents and children of the school to enjoy.

The purpose of most of these events is to raise money to provide the children with extra facilities within the school that could not otherwise be purchased.

School Community
Our school is a community based on and committed to Christian values, and as such is part of each child's experience to learn to work and live together with the other members of the community, in a way which reflects those values.

We have a committed governing body who meet regularly through various forums to oversee the running of the school under educational legislation and with guidance from the diocese.

Most of our children are Catholic though we also accept other Christian denominations. We draw from the parishes of St. Catherine's, Wimborne and St Anthony's West Moors, though our catchment extends beyond this and includes Merley, Corfe Mullen, Broadstone, Ferndown, Parley, Ringwood and Blandford.

The school has a Kindergarten on its premises which offers pre-school education from the age of 2 years and 9 month
