St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School is an oversubscribed 11-18 mixed Catholic comprehensive school serving the population of Flintshire in North Wales.
Our last Inspection noted that we are :
" a successful and flourising school which is advancing and improving further as it enters a new stage in its development. It serves its pupils and parishes very well."
I hope that you enjoy browsing through our site. It contains many innovative features that we are very proud of as well as the usual factual and informative documents that parents want to know about and need to know about.
Please browse through our modular curriculum - called Learning Programmes. These contain a summary of all the work that takes place at school and provides parents with a week by week guide to what goes on in the classroom and crucially how parents can help their child make the most of their time at school.
Throughout the year we will continue to add to this site by placing resources, worksheets and anything else we can think of, to help your child maximise their potential. We don't intend to password protect our work its available for everyone to use and we would welcome your feedback via our guestbook on how you are using our resources. Please encourage your child to use our "sam learning" site which all pupils have access to via a password. This site has a wide range of homework/exam preparation activities which should ensure that your child always has something to do when not at school.
Please look at our Gwyn News and In The News Section. The Gwyn News is a weekly newsletter which is distributed to parents and the wider community. In this you will be able to read about our many successes and what pupils are involved in each week. By viewing it on the website you will be able to see all photographs in colour.
If you are not a current parent, then please feel free to contact us and arrange a visit as clearly a website cannot be a substitute for feeling the real atmosphere of school life. Indeed one of my favourite Inspection quotes recognised the special kind of school we have by describing our school as a " lively, orderly and civilised community " and "pupils are courteous, polite and respect staff, visitors and each other.......they are friendly articulate and helpful".
In the meantime please look around the school using our " a day in the life presentation " on this page.
I hope that you enjoy using this site and that it enables your child and yourself to get the most out of what we offer. Please feel free to let us know what else you would like to see here.
