Our school is a lively Key Stage One Community with a strong family atmosphere. Our Victorian building has been updated and extended to provide a warm, welcoming school with excellent facilities. We work as a team to help each child develop their full potential in a secure, happy environment.

Devon County Council organises admissions to this school and you will be asked to fill in an admission form in the January of the year before your child is due into school. Children whose birthdays fall between 1st September and 28/9th February start in September and the rest start in January. We are allowed to admit up to 50 pupils in any year.

We follow the curriculum guidance for 4-7 year olds offering our foundation stage pupils a play based curriculum which leads on very naturally from their experience at nursery or pre school. We assess the children against the Foundation Stage Profile in six areas of learning: communication language and literacy, maths, creative development, knowledge and understanding of the world, physical and personal social and emotional development. Most children achieve many of the early learning goals for 5 year olds by the time they have completed their first year here. They then move on to the national curriculum, which is planned around the traditional school subjects.
