Welcome
Welcome to our website. We hope to provide an insight to all aspects of life at the school.
We aim to make school a happy and rewarding experience for children. Children are taught by a dedicated, caring and well qualified staff. They promote a high standard of achievement and individual development, in a stimulating and attractive environment.
We deliver a broad and balanced curriculum which fosters a positive attitude to learning and provides a firm foundation on which each child can build. Expectations of behaviour, courtesy and effort are high.
We extend a warm invitation to visit the school in order to see us at work. Please telephone for an appointment with the Headteacher.
The Alderton Infant School was opened in 1952 to serve a mixed suburban catchment area. It occupies a single-storey building and is set in beautiful grounds with The Alderton Junior School on the same campus.
The building has wide corridors leading to eight well-proportioned, attractive classrooms. There is an additional classroom situated at the far end of the school. The large assembly hall is well equipped for P.E. and musical activities and there is a separate dining hall that doubles as a television area. Hot meals are cooked on site.
There are two playgrounds; one incorporates a splendid adventure play area with a safety surface and is used by all pupils. The smaller area at the far end of the school has been fenced in and forms part of the outdoor environment created for the youngest children with attractive seating, playground markings, bikes and scooters and small play equipment.
The School is well resourced with up-to-date books, practical equipment, computer software and interactive whiteboards.
