  • The Dixie Grammar School

  • Welcome to The Dixie Grammar School.  We are proud of what we achieve here and our aim is to fulfil the potential of each and every child.  The provision of a first-class academic education is central to this, but we believe that there should also be a programme of extra-curricular activities to give all students the chance to find an area in which they excel.  In this way they can gain a confidence that will be beneficial in many other aspects of their life.

We are especially proud of our International Links and these have been recognised nationally by the award of the prestigious British Council International School Award.  As you look through this website you will see details not only of our strong links with schools in China and Germany, and soon Hungary, but also of the wide range of internationally themed activities happening within School.

In striving to attain our ideals we are greatly helped by the School's size, which makes it possible to pay more attention to individuals. Class sizes are limited, and this creates an atmosphere conducive to study and academic endeavour.

At the same time no one's contribution is likely to be overlooked in sporting and cultural activities, and in the senior part of the School every student has to learn to accept the responsibilities of leadership and service.

We recognise that we can only fully achieve our aims when students, students and staff work together in partnership.  We are a true community: staff and students all know each other, and from this stems both our friendliness and an excellent discipline based on mutual respect.

If you would like to find out more about our School or visit with your son or daughter please contact us.

I look forward to welcoming you to The Dixie Grammar School.

    John R Wood, Headmaster
