Welcome to The Kings School Ely -Nursery and Pre-Preparator
JUNIOR
Philosophy
There is rich potential within every child. Accordingly, we offer a content-rich environment to enable children to become the very best they can be in a wide range of activities, without compromise to our high standards of academic achievement.
We provide the diversity, the facilities, the expertise and the passion. We ask our children to be themselves, lose the fear factor, ‘have a go’, give it their best shot and enjoy the experience.
King’s Junior children embrace opportunities to learn and grow and, when they do, they encounter nothing but the enthusiasm, support and stimulation which is inherent in our teaching excellence.
King’s Junior aims to remove barriers to learning, and both create and satisfy the hunger for knowledge. As we do this, we build the hallmark self-esteem of the well-educated, well-balanced young person.
SENIOR
Philosophy
We believe that every school morning should start with a buzz. After all, it’s a whole new day, brimming with possibilities.
Our job is to make learning accessible, stimulating, challenging, inspiring. Your job? To engage with the opportunities around you.
Yes, we expect you to be responsible. That involves being open, caring and hard working, but if you get it right you’ll be amazed how much work you get through, the fun you have, the friendships you forge and just how much you achieve.
We never forget that you are an individual and we make sure that whatever your strengths we have the facilities and support to take you as far as you want to go; and yes, of course we do all we can to help when you hit problems or need a little extra input from your teachers.
KING'S INTERNATIONAL STUDY CENTRE
The King’s School Ely brings a thousand years of tradition and achievement to its pupils. The King’s International Study Centre is the bridge that enables children from non-English speaking cultures to access the very best of independent British education.
Years of experience have enabled us to perfect an approach which instils confidence, enthusiasm and a sense of security in our students.
English is central to the curriculum and students are
prepared for ESOL English examinations as well as GCSEs,
enabling them to continue in the British educational system.
Class sizes are small and groups are organised by ability,
age and need. One-to-one tutoring ensures that academic
progress is closely monitored but also provides the very
best in pastoral care.
Academic work is just one aspect of student life.
Everyone has the opportunity to enjoy a full range of sports, recreational activities and educational visits.
Students are actively encouraged to continue with Sixth Form studies at King’s, and others successfully make the transition to other UK independent schools.
