Thorns Infant School is one of the top performing schools in Kenilworth, producing excellent academic results, and well motivated, happy children. Thorns received an exemplary OFSTED inspection report during 2005 which recognised the high standards of teaching and learning enjoyed right across the school.
Thorns holds the Investors In People award, the ‘Warwickshire Health Promoting Schools Scheme’ at Bronze, Silver and Gold, the School Achievement Award, and the Warwickshire Schools Safety Merit Award.
Uniquely in Kenilworth, Thorns has its own swimming pool, enabling all children to learn to swim by the end of year 2. Thorns also has an on-site ‘out of school’ club called Brambles, which provides wrap around care and learning for children from as young as 2 years 9 months old. Brambles’ is open five days a week, including a holiday club during school holidays.
