Welcome to Trinity School Preparatory Department

Situated in the seaside town of Teignmouth, the Prep Department is situated within Oakley House, a large Victorian building, overlooking the school swimming pool and fine views to the sea.

Once again the boarding House has been full to capacity for the majority of the year and when space has been available day pupils have been able to enjoy the benefits of temporary boarding at Trinity.

Highlights of the year have included The Boarders Pantomime which was loosely based on Dick Whittington and the end of term disco.

Every James Bond fan has had the opportunity to see the latest 007 extravaganza along with regular Friday night trips to the cinema. Opportunities to relax out of school or develop an interest abound. Boarders have been able to enjoy paint balling, pot holing, sea fishing or score a strike whilst Ten Pin Bowling. Badminton and volleyball nights, golf, kayaking and sailing have been especially popular.

The activity programme after school continues to expand and this year boarders have enjoyed the opportunity to participate in Yoga and dance.

In addition to physical activities, there have been many cultural events such as visits to theatres to see plays and musicals. Other events have included visits to Alton Towers, Paignton and Shaldon Zoo, Dartmoor and Stover Country Parks, Quay West, Creally, Woodlands, ice skating and the China Blue Pottery in Totnes. Visits to premier soccer fixtures to see Aston Villa play Tottenham Hotspur and
Liverpool were fully subscribed. The climbing wall and heated swimming pool have been in regular use and walks around Shaldon, the Moors, Canonteign falls and the local beaches have been enjoyed.

I am pleased to confirm that work to further improve the boarding accommodation and facilities on site continues. Wireless Internet access is now available in all the boarding rooms and more storage facilities are in place. New Cabin beds and bedroom furniture will be evident in the autumn term.
