Fees and Finance
Managing your finances is one of the most important and challenging aspects of a successful and enjoyable academic experience. Before you leave home you should ensure that your financial matters are in order.
Students are strongly advised not to embark on a course of study unless they have adequate funding to support themselves and any dependants for the duration of the course. Be realistic about the costs involved. Your funds will need to cover both your tuition fees and your living costs. Once you have started a course, financial assistance is extremely limited. Any forms of sponsorship should be arranged in your home country well in advance of the start of the course.
International Students
The International Office administers a £240,000 scholarship scheme for Undergraduate and Taught Masters students. The University also has a significant Research Degree (MPhil/PhD) scholarship fund. In all cases scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and competition is intense. The purpose of our scholarship programmes is to recognise excellence in our students and all international students receive automatic consideration...more >>

We hope this information on financial matters will help you make all the necessary preparations but, if you have further questions, our Student Money Service can help. The Money Service can provide practical financial help and budgetary advice and staff are very willing to answer queries from you, your parents, families or partners. You are welcome to make contact before you begin your studies. You can also book an appointment with a Student Money Adviser if you would prefer to talk things through in person. The Service is here to help all students - undergraduate and postgraduate, home and international. Email: studentmoney@bath.ac.uk, tel: + 44 1225 386968 .
