Welcome from Professor Les Ebdon, Vice Chancellor

I am delighted to welcome you to the University of Bedfordshire.

The University of Luton and De Montfort University's Bedford campus combined forces in August 2006 to create the new University.

The University of Bedfordshire is the largest provider of undergraduate and postgraduate education in Bedfordshire, and provides excellent opportunities for more people to access top quality higher education.

We work closely with employers on our curriculum, while forging close links with UK companies to provide a broad range of training and accredited industry programmes.

The University is undergoing major expansion and development and by 2007 will have completed a £45 million investment in the two campuses.

The Luton campus has recently enjoyed a multi-million pound investment with a further £25 million to come. Facilities include a £5.5 million Media Arts Centre and £8.2 million Learning Resources Centre.

The Bedford campus is in the middle of a £34 million redevelopment programme and will boast a new Campus Centre with a Student Union and a £20 million accommodation block.

The University of Bedfordshire will continue to support personal, career and professional development, offer an increased level of support and a continuing excellent standard of teaching.

• Educational partnerships
  The University of Bedfordshire works together with a number of partner institutions to offer a wide range of courses. Students can benefit from increased choice and facilities through these partnerships.
• Freedom of Information publication scheme
  Adopting a publication scheme is a requirement of the Freedom of Information Act (FOI) 2000. This scheme allows members of the public to access information and documents relating to the University.
