Uplands Primary School opened in 1965. The school is housed in modern buildings and is situated in a pleasant residential area of central Sandhurst. It is one form of entry and admits boys and girls from 5 to 11 years of age.
Our vision is to encourage, motivate and challenge all our pupils to achieve their full potential within a secure learning environment. We aim to help pupils feel empathy for others and show respect for all whilst developing as honest, polite, well-rounded, creative, confident and happy citizens who have a life long love of learning.
Care, guidance and support, personal development and well-being, leadership and management and the overall effectiveness of the school were all judged ‘outstanding’. ‘This is an outstanding school where pupils thrive’ - Ofsted June 2006.

Our aim is to ensure every child receives a broad and balanced education, based on the National Curriculum programmes of study and the approved syllabus for religious education. The emphasis, especially in the early years, is on reading, writing and mathematics. Teachers are actively involved in developing the curriculum and receive training to build on their knowledge and skills. For each child there is continuous formal assessment to monitor progress and ensure that each child’s full potential is achieved.
This also enables any areas of special educational need to be identified early. Parents are encouraged to assist and work in partnership with the staff and children at Uplands.
