West Blatchington Infant and Nursery School is a small school in Hove,East Sussex overlooking the North Downs . We are an inclusive school that values standards and achievement for all. 

We are able to offer excellent pre school facilities in our nursery class.

Our Autistic facility gives specialist support for children on the austistic spectrum.

 

We are extremely proud of all the things the school can offer.

As our website demonstrates, the children at West Blatchington Infants are supported in their learning by dedicated staff, governors and parents.

CLASSES

 

 

Nursery : Monkeys


 There are two sessions offered in the nursery class, mornings from 8.55 -12.25, and afternoons from 12.30-3.00pm. The class is taught by Miss Sarah Donovan, assisted by nursery nurses Mrs Kelly Samuels and Mrs Jacqueline Chafen. Children can come to the nursery in the term after their 3rd birthday.  Please enquire at the school office about vacancies.

Reception: Penguins and Bears


There are two Reception classes at West Blatchington Infant School - Penguins and Bears. Penguin Class is taught by our Deputy Head, Mrs Kate Pippard and Bear Class is taught by Mrs Kirsten Beatty.

Year One: Zebras and Giraffes


There are two Year One classes at West Blatchington Infant School - Zebras and Giraffes. Zebra Class is taught by Mrs Rachel Tuck/Miss Clare Summers and Giraffe Class is taught by Miss Kelli Wild

Year Two: Kangaroos and Tigers


There are two Year Two classes at West Blatchington Infant School - Kangaroos and Tigers. Kangaroo Class is taught by Miss Josette Harris and Tiger Class is taught by Miss Alexandra Kirby

Panda Class


We are very lucky to host and intregrate an autistic unit on site - Panda Class. Ms Alison Dobell and  Miss Emma Lowe  teach Panda Class.

CLUBS

We have many extra curricular activties that are open to children throughout the week.

Many of our children enjoy coming to school at 8:00 in the morning to be part of our very successful Breakfast Club. The children are looked after and fed healthy foods by Mrs Etheridge... After breakfast, they enjoy playing group games and activities until school starts at 8:50.
On Tuesdays from 3-4.00pm Yoga Bugs is being held in the school hall. Ask at the school for details as we still have some places available.
Mondays from 3.00 - 4.00pm Football club. Please ask at the school office for details. We still have some places available this term.


The Brighton and Hove Inclusion club run after school care at the local community centre. The club is available Monday-Friday from 3.00 -6.00pm. A pick up service from school is available. Please ask at the office for details.
Gardening club and Art club are being held after school on Thursdays.
