and Nursery Unit, West Putford, EX22 7UT, UK Holsworthy

We are a small, rural school situated in the village of West Putford. As a village school we are proud of our family atmosphere and are delighted to offer a warm welcome to your family to join us. You will find we are a busy school which offers many activities and experiences to enrich the curriculum. You will see we have achieved Activemark 2006. This rewards exceptional delivery of the National School Sport Strategy. At the beginning of March 2007 we received accreditation of Healthy Schools Award.

At West and East Putford Primary we aim to work in partnership with parents and the wider community. We aim to create an enriching and stimulating environment where children feel safe to learn and grow. We will provide a broad an

The school operates a three term intake for rising 5 pupils (4+) who will begin full time reception education. Full details of term of entry will be dependant on birth date, full details included in policy, which is available from school reception.

We currently have vacancies in KS1 and KS2 and would be pleased to welcome any new pupils in these classes.

Our Nursery provides an excellent foundation for our pupils and for pupils from the four surrounding parishes; Newton St Petrock, Bradworthy, Bulkworthy, Sutcombe and West and East Putford. The Nursery is funded through the Local Education Authority, and it is the only LEA nursery in the immediate area. Within an LA Nursery there is always a high standard of staffing and provision. The Nursery is organised by Andrea Sims our qualified teacher.

Our Nursery Nurse Nicola Quinlan also provides additional expertise which complements the skills of our teacher; ensuring good Nursery provision through highly effective team work.

Our Nursery team are committed to providing a warm friendly learning environment in which children develop successfully and have fun.

We are committed to developing a passion for learning in every child who attends the school. People who work at West and East Putford see themselves as learners too; together, we seek to discover the potential in every child and adult and develop this into success and excellence.

We constantly seek to revise and improve our work and to learn from what we do. The School Improvement Plan is designed to enable the school’s vision to be shared and understood by the whole school community. As we work towards the aims of the plan, we seek to harness the talents of the whole school community and by working and learning together, realise our ambitions.
