| WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL!!!
One of the earliest references to schooling in Widecombe dates back to 1632. In 1931 Widecombe-in-the-Moor Primary School moved to its current site.
Over the past years the school has become very popular and the roll has increased. We are large enough to offer a very broad and exciting curriculum, whilst at the same time, are small enough for everyone to be known and we have made sure that it still retains its friendly, caring ethos.
Our school is always evolving and we are constantly looking at ways we can improve our provision for the children. We have an excellent reputation and are very proud of our achievements. We hope that this is apparent when you read this booklet, when you visit our school, or when you talk to our children and parents.
|
| - Ensure that learning is enjoyable, stimulating and fun.
- Enable all children to be articulate, literate and numerate and achieve beyond their expectations
- Encourage an effective partnership with parents and carers and the wider community.
- Offer a warm, welcoming environment and learning community where every individual understands their roles and responsibilities and respects the views and opinions of others.

| Playtimes involve the children using the adventure playground, the lawned area and the front play area. They have a range of equipment to use and a rota of organised activities. All children have a break in the morning from 10.15 to 10.30am, at lunchtime from midday until 1.00pm, and from 2.15 until 2.30pm in the afternoon.

| We have an after school club every day. On Monday we have Gardening Club where we plant flowers, trim our maze and lots more, sometimes muddy jobs but it’s fun. It’s run by Alison Beard. ON Tuesday after school we’ve got Football which is also very fun. It’s run by Peter Boston. You have to bring your own football boots and all you have to wear is your P.E. kit. On Wednesday we’ve got Tag Rugby and Thursday we have Thursday Club where we do art and games. It’s a mixture of things. We do something different every week, it’s run by Brenda Boston and Miss Bell. Friday we have Netball Club which is really fun, you learn different moves and you get to play in matches against other schools. It’s run by Peter and Brenda Boston.
