William Gilbert Endowed

Primary School

On behalf of myself and all the staff may I welcome you and your child to William Gilbert School.  If your child becomes a member of William Gilbert then I hope the years ahead will be happy, interesting and informative and that whilst your child is with us they will acquire a set of values which will help him or her to lead a full life in the future.

This School Prospectus has been produced specifically for parents who may wish to send their children to William Gilbert Endowed Primary School.  It will tell you something about the school and the way it works.  I hope it answers many of the questions you would wish to ask and that it will help us work together for the benefit of your child or children.

We want William Gilbert School to be a happy, stimulating place for everyone and we hope that your child’s potential is fulfilled during his/her stay with us.  Your support and encouragement, as parents, will help ensure that this happens.  If ever problems or anxieties arise, we promise we will do our best to help.

The information in this prospectus is correct at the time of publication.  However, there may possibly be changes in the future to some of the arrangements described.  Receipt of this prospectus does not imply the automatic offer of a place at William Gilbert.  Also please note that attendance at our school does not automatically guarantee a place at the Ecclesbourne Secondary School.

Parents of any prospective pupils are welcome to contact the school for further information or to request an appointment for a personal interview and a look around the school during which we can discuss any matters relating to your child’s education.

William Gilbert (endowed) Primary School is a Church of England Voluntary Aided School, situated in the village of Duffield on the outskirts of the City of Derby.

The maximum number of children on the roll during the summer term is around 245.
