| ABOUT US
Winton Arts and Media College is a good college committed to achieving the highest academic standards within a caring and challenging environment. Our success reflects our motto "we are here to learn together". We work in partnership with our students, parents and local community.
Our broad and balanced education with its challenging additional experiences produce independent, open-minded and confident young people, with a desire for lifelong learning and readiness to face future challenges. We develop in students the academic social skills which enable them to move freely and productively beyond the boundaries of their own community.
The quality of our work has recently been recognised through gaining specialist status in Arts and Media and by achieving our best ever examination results.

| The Learning Resource Centre is a comprehensive and accessible resource for all
students. It comprises the Library and the stock includes an extensive range of
books, audio tapes, video tapes and a Computer Section. The centre has a number
of computers which give access to the Internet.
The LRC is open throughout the day and students are encouraged to use the
facilities both for their recreational reading and their studies. During lesson time the
centre is in constant use both by class groups and individual students. Before
school, breaktime, lunchtime and after school students may come to read quietly and
make use of the resources to complete their homework or coursework. |
| Winton Arts and Media College has a clear vision for developing all students to their full
potential. We want the best provision for all our students and give them equal opportunities
in order to achieve success. We need to involve the LA, parents, teachers, governors and
others in the community in order to nurture all individual differences. Winton is committed to
meeting the needs of more able, gifted and talented learners through its teaching and
learning provision. |
