Key Stages
We provide a broad and balanced curriculum ensuring a range of subjects, themes and skills, that provide a good general education, preparing pupils for adult life, and covering the requirements of the National Curriculum.
Key Stage 3 Lower School Curriculum
In Years 7, 8 and 9 (in Lower School), all pupils follow the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum. The common course for all pupils includes tutor time, Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education (PSHCE), Sex and Relationships Education and:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- Expressive Arts (Art, Music and Drama)
- French or German or Spanish
- Geography
- History
- Physical Education
- Religious Education
- Technology
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
In years 8 and 9 pupils can take two foreign languages.
Various themes are woven through the curriculum including:
- Careers education and guidance
- Citizenship
- Economic and industrial understanding
- Environmental education
- Health education including drugs education
- Information technology
Key Stage 4 Upper School Curriculum
In the Upper School in Key Stage 4 (years 10 and 11) pupils study a core curriculum of Maths, English, Science, Modern Languages, IT, RE and PSHCE and some option subjects, which are chosen from our three Key Stage 4 Programmes. These can be viewed by selecting the links.

We work with our pupils to ensure they choose the right programme in order to maximise their enjoyment of the courses they have chosen. Our aim is for all pupils to leave school with good qualifications to prepare them for further education or for the world of work.
