Welcome to Woodborough!

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our web site. Here you can find out all about our school, find out what's happening and look at some of our work.

At Woodborough Primary School we have a highly committed and professional staff dedicated to supporting and guiding your child’s development. We, at Woodborough, value the partnership between home and school and we are proud of our ‘open-door’ policy where parents and guardians are welcome to visit our school and discuss things whenever necessary.

The happiness of every child is very important to us both on an academic and personal aspect and it is only through a successful and supportive partnership between child, parent and school that we can achieve this.

Welcome from Headteacher

At Woodborough Primary School we believe in the concept of lifelong learning and

the idea that both adults and children learn new things every day. We maintain that learning should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for everyone; it should be fun. Through our teaching we equip children with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to be able to make informed choices about the important things in their lives. We believe that appropriate teaching and learning experiences help children to lead happy and rewarding lives.

In order to try to achieve this we aim: to provide each pupil with a broad and balanced curriculum, which meets the needs of all children and giving access to the whole school curriculum; to provide a positive environment in which children can develop a sense of responsibility, self-discipline, self-motivation, confidence, creative and independent learning; to encourage all children to believe that they have something to contribute to their enjoyment of learning, increasing their successes and self-esteem, to foster the child’s spiritual, moral, physical, cultural and social development, to develop skills to work co-operatively with others, sharing ideas, support and be supported, to offer each child the opportunity to develop a lively, enquiring mind, the ability to question, argue rationally and to value learning for learning’s sake.

In Woodborough Primary School we have a highly committed and professional staff dedicated to supporting and guiding your child’s development. We, at Woodborough, value the partnership between home and school and we are proud of our ‘open-door’ policy where parents and guardians are welcome to visit our school and discuss things whenever necessary.
