Whether you live in or near the village of Woodbury already, or are thinking of moving to the area, we would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your family to our school.

Woodbury School lies at the heart of the village. It is a thriving and active community for children aged four to eleven years. Many of our children come to us from Maytree Pre-school that meets in the Village Hall. Others come from further afield. The school ensures that the transition from pre-school to reception is managed smoothly.

We offer all our children a wide range of opportunities and experiences, through the broad and balanced school curriculum. Our staff are experienced and dedicated. They encourage our children to develop lively and enquiring minds.

We believe that everyone in our school should value and respect each other. We build this by providing a warm, caring and secure environment, in which self-esteem and mutual respect can flourish and where everyone has a clear sense of purpose.

WHAT WE WANT TO BE

  • A centre of excellence in education
  • A community where all are valued and respected and have the confidence to achieve their best
  • A community in which all members work in partnership

OUR AIMS AND VALUES

  • To continue educating our pupils in the context of the Christian Faith and its Values
  • To provide an atmosphere of happiness , security and confidence set within a stimulating environment in which children enjoy learning
  • To provide the highest standard of education and fulfill the requirements of the National Curriculum
  • To help all children achieve their full potential by developing a flexible approach to the curriculum; matching abilities, attainments, interests and individual needs
  • To encourage children to make reasoned judgements, acquire relevant skills in a rapidly changing world and to develop lively and enquiring minds
  • To develop vital skills in literacy and numeracy
  • To help children to understand and appreciate their cultural and social heritage and to take their place in society understanding the responsibility of citizenship
  • To encourage creative and physical talents through first hand experiences to develop healthy minds and bodies
  • To develop the children’s independence, initiative and ability to work alone and with others
  • To encourage all staff to develop and use their skills and talents to the greatest benefit for the School

To maintain a friendly and welcoming, working partnership with Parents, Church and Community.
