If you are renting or are about to rent in the private sector, your first point of contact should be University of London Housing Services. All Birkbeck degree students are entitled to use these services to seek help with finding accommodation or to obtain advice (including free legal advice) concerning housing. If you own property, you can advertise your vacancies to other students and staff via the Landlord Registration Scheme.
Birkbeck also has a quota of places in the University of London Intercollegiate halls of residence. These are normally reserved for full-time postgraduate students who have not previously lived in the UK.
International students are advised not to arrive in London without some form of accommodation arranged in advance. If necessary, you can book temporary accommodation for up to 10 days if you need time to resolve long-term accommodation options.
