After School Kids’ Club
Information Booklet
Information About The Club
Froncysyllte After School Club first opened its doors in December 1997, initially for one and a half hours. It was found that there was demand for a longer session and therefore the Club sought Registration with Social Services, which it obtained in February 1998.
We are all very proud of our After School Club. Since opening, the club has grown in popularity and now has over twenty children attending every evening. The Club is also open to pupils from other schools (aged 3-11).
The Club has been staffed with parents from the village and our staff have been in the Club since it first opened. Staff have built up good relationships with both the children and their parents. The children enjoy attending the Club and often do not want to go home at 3:15 p.m.
The Club is Managed by Mrs. J. Thomas-Haigh (Headteacher) and by a Management Committee (made up of Governors and Parents). Please feel free to discuss any concerns with the Headteacher/Club Manager or place any comments in writing to the Management Committee.
We hope your child enjoys their time in our After School Club and we look forward to developing good relationships with both children and parents.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES FOR OUR CLUB:
1. We aim to provide good quality childcare for all of our members.
2. We want our children to play in a safe environment.
3. We want our children to be happy in club.
4. We wish to maintain high standards of behaviour.
5. We want our children to display good manners – towards staff and each other.
6. We will provide equal opportunities for all our members.
7. We will do our best to accommodate pupils with Special Needs.
8. We will offer a wide range of activities for children to participate in.
9. We will provide quiet areas for children to do any homework or written activities. We will provide support to enable them to do this.
10. We will always aim to keep our parents well informed and will tell them immediately about any incidents of bad behaviour or accidents.
OTHER DETAILS:
1. Club is open Monday to Friday 3:15 – 5:45 p.m.
2. Each child must be registered with the After School Club. Please ask the School Secretary or Club Co-ordinator for a form that should be completed before your child attends the Club.
3. You must ensure you inform staff of any allergies that your child has (there is space to do this on the registration form).
4. A snack and drink will be provided for your child.
5. The charges for the After School Club are:
£1.50 for one child (per hour)
£1.25 for two children (per hour)
£1:00 for three or more children (per hour)
We request that payments are made weekly, by cash or cheque, made payable to Froncysyllte After School Club.
6. We will issue ‘reminder’ letters if any arrears build up – please do not get offended if you receive one. These letters are meant as a reminder and enable us to keep our accounts up to date. If you experience difficulties paying your bill, please see Mrs. J. Williams(Club Treasurer) to discuss the situation with her.
7. We expect good behaviour from all our children. Any incidents that display ‘negative’ behaviour will be placed in the PROCEDURE BOOK. We will tell parents about any such behaviour and will also inform the Headteacher the following day.
We have the right to refuse entry to our After School Club if children repeatedly display negative behaviour. We will inform parents at an early stage if this is the action to be taken.
7. We will not allow your child to leave with anyone else unless we have permission to do so. If your child is to leave with another parent, please write a short note to staff in club. The safety of your child is our utmost concern.
