Llantysilio school is situated on a small site and the main building incorporating the two main classrooms date back to the middle of the 19th century. A new canteen and office was built in 1993.
The school is a Voluntary Controlled School run by Denbighshire Education Authority but with delegated powers under Local Management of School (L.E.A.). There are 2 classes - all the Key Stage 1 children in the Infant Class and all the Key Stage 2 children in the Junior Class.
The main medium of instruction is English, but children from Welsh speaking homes will be given the opportunity of sustaining and developing their home language and wherever appropriate covering certain areas of the curriculum in Welsh. Welsh is taught as a second language throughput the school and forms an integral part of the curriculum and is used in an incidental basis throughout the school day.
As a Voluntary Controlled School we enjoy strong links with the Church. The school and the Church work closely together on many aspects of Collective Worship and certain aspects of the R.E. syllabus. There is either a Harvest Festival or a Carol Service held at the church each year and there is also a family service held on the first Sunday of each month. All are welcome.
The school has an After school club which is run by a separate committee. Please contact school, for more details.
