From the Head Teacher

Belper School is an established, successful and over-subscribed 11-18 school for students of all abilities; it serves the town of Belper and its surrounding areas. The school works hard at creating the potential for success for all its students. Expectations are high and our good public examination results are testament to this. The school achieves its success by a combination of strong support for every student, a clear focus on high quality teaching leading to effective learning and open communication between school and home.

We are very fortunate in having well equipped and attractive buildings which have been refurbished and expanded to accommodate the growing school population. As a specialist Technology College we are able to offer our students access to greatly enhanced resources and opportunities such as our extensive facilities for Information and Communication Technology.

Ours is a lively and happy school where people matter and productive relationships are at the centre of all that we do. We are constantly seeking to improve and build upon our success but we can justifiably be proud of all that we have been able to achieve over the years on behalf of our students.

Trevor Harding

Belper School hosts numerous evening classes, clubs and meetings at the campus outside school hours.

Hosted Sites
As well as providing space for student websites, Belper school also hosts a number of sites for the community, a collection of which are now available here.

Feeder Schools

Belper School keeps close links with its eight main feeder schools; Ambergate, Herbert Strutt, Holbrook, Long Row, Milford, Pottery, St Elizabeths, and St Johns.

We also host the Belper Primary Intranet

Key Stage 3 (Years 7 - 9)
Key Stage 3 covers students between the ages of 11 and 14. Students study a wide range of subjects, preparing them and giving them a solid, varied base on which to build on in Key Stage 3 Booklet

Key Stage 4 (Years 10 - 11)
In the upper school, students work towards taking GCSEs and GNVQs. In addition to the core subjects of English, Maths, Science, Modern Languages and PSHE, students may choose which subjects to study from the wide range of courses on offer. Courses guide

Post 16 (Years 12 - 13)
After GCSEs, many students stay at Belper for the next stage of their education. The students in our growing Sixth Form usually choose either between 3 and 5 AS Level subjects or an Advanced GNVQ, some or all of which they continue to A2 Level. Post 16 Prospectus

We value all students equally, regardless of ability or background. Good relationships are at the heart of what we do. By setting high expectations within a supportive environment, we aim to produce well-rounded, confident young people ready to face the future.

In giving our students an enhanced degree of freedom and the ability to express their individuality, we expect them to show maturity, self-reliance and concern for others.
