Situated in the picturesque village of Diseworth, very close to East Midlands Airport in north west Leicestershire, the school takes children from age 4 to 10. At present we have three classes, with relatively small numbers of children in each class. We are a Voluntary Controlled Church of England school with close links to the church and village community.
The grounds of the school are extensive, including a large playing field and nature area. The building itself was constructed in 1973, replacing a Victorian one on the same site. Inside the school are three classrooms, a hall, library and art area, with kiln room. All the classrooms are carpeted and provide a bright and warm environment for our children. The children have access to several computers in each classroom.
Class Arrangements
Class 1 currently takes children in reception and year 1, with part time nursery children joining in January and April. Class 2 takes year 2 and 3 children. Class 3 is for years 3,4 and 5. All classes benefit from a number of part time classroom assistants.
With between 40 and 50 children in the school, we are able to provide small classes with all the benefits which this gives the children. We have a good knowledge of individual children's needs and learning styles which has a positive input on the progress and attainment the children make over the years. |
