The school has updated its planning in line with the revised National Curriculum, which took effect in September 2000, incorporating the continued emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy. Preparation for the introduction of the National Literacy Project in September 1998 and the National Numeracy Strategy in September 1999 necessitated a great deal of work and increasing of resources, but the benefits of implementing the strategies are already being seen. Although the requirements for many of the foundation subjects were relaxed until September 2000, the school continued to offer a broad balanced curriculum including all subjects.
A summary of current progress towards the core and foundation subjects of the National Curriculum plus Religious Education is set out here, for which assessment and recording systems have been formulated.
