Other clubs have taken place depending on adult help/demand eg. Drama, Indoor Games.
We thank Staff and Parents for giving generously of their time so that these activities can take place.
Charging for Activities
We feel that visits outside school are of great benefit to the education of the children. They form an important part of the Outdoor Education Programme of the Curriculum.
Children are given the opportunity to take part in day visits, throughout their school career. We try to keep the cost of these visits to a minimum. Sometimes these visits are subsidised.
There are often visitors who come to the school to give a talk/performance. Where possible we will cover these costs ourselves.
Children in Year 5 and 6 have the opportunity to go on a residential field trip each summer. The pattern of these visits is -
Year 1 - The Wembworthy Centre, North Devon
Year 2 - Start Bay Centre, South Devon
It is our policy to ask for voluntary contributions, when we plan educational visits which support the Curriculum. Anyone is welcome to discuss any problems this may cause and we will see what we can do to help financially.
If we are unable to cover the cost of a visit or an experience, then the event will not go ahead!
We have a Charging Policy which asks children to make a contribution towards the cost of materials/ingredients when -
- making complex models for technology
- fired and glazed pottery
- larger items of needlework/craft
If poor behaviour by a child causes school equipment to be damaged, we will ask parents to pay for/towards the cost of repairs/replacement.
For visits which take place out of the immediate vicinity of the school, we will notify you of the details and ask you to sign a permission slip.
For other local visits e.g. Village Green, Church, Village Walk, we would not ask for your permission, as this would have already been given on a general permission form attached to the admission form.
