The original building, which houses the Junior classroom, the Middle classroom, two offices, Resources Area, Library and two cloakroom areas, was built in the Victorian times. The 'temporary' building, which houses the Early Years classroom was erected during the early 1960's.
The Victorian building has been substantially modernised with new double-glazing and carpeting. A few years ago we had a new resource area built which enclosed the toilets so that they are no longer outside. A library was created and there is one entrance for visitors which has enhanced the security of the school. Gas central heating has replaced the night storage heating which was inadequate. We are fortunate to have wonderful grounds which house a football pitch, an adventure play area, built by the P.T.A. and a picnic area. Pond and wildlife gardens are on-going projects.
A new school hall is nearing completion and will provide a multi-purpose hall (for sports, drama, assemblies, etc), staff room, toilets, community room and storage. |
