Welcome to the website of Dolton Voluntary Aided Primary School

Dolton (VA) Primary School is a Church of England Voluntary Aided School and was founded in 1854. We have a close relationship with St Edmund's Church and are grateful for the help and support given by the Church. As a Christian school, the values of Christianity are stressed. We try to provide all our children with an excellent standard of education and to meet with Christian values and attitudes, which we hope they will find relevant in our multi-cultural world, whilst they are acquiring knowledge.

  • To provide a broad Christian Education at the highest standards across all aspects of the National Curriculum
  • To enable the child to become spiritually aware and to develop both a sense of moral responsibility and of purpose
  • To develop a sense of self-respect and self-discipline within a safe environment and to encourage the capacity to grow into self-motivated adults able to function as full members of society
  • For staff, governors, parents and children to work together as members of a team. To provide an example and encouragement for children to develop their social awareness, pride in working to the best of ones abilities and a promoting a positive and persistent attitude to learning
  • To enable all children to maximise their learning potential

Dolton School caters for children between the ages of five and eleven. It is the school's policy at present to have two points of admission throughout the year - September and January. Depending upon the total annual intake, the governors will accept into school in September those pupils who are five years old between 1st September and 28th February. Those with their fifth birthday between lst March and 31st August will commence in January prior to their fifth birthday

Admission forms and a copy of the Schools Admission policy are available from the Headteacher on request
