Our prime aim is to develop positive attitudes to learning within ALL our children.
So, in our teaching we seek to provide a wider, broad based curriculum into which the Literacy and Numeracy strategies and the whole of the National Curriculum can be placed.
PLANNING: Our curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment policies are drawn up, used and revised on a regular basis.
We aim to develop curiosity, initiative, self-confidence and esteem and self discipline, together with a sense of belonging to the school, and the local community.
As a small school we think that one of our strengths lies in the development of personal relationships. We have time to tend to issues of personal, social and moral education due to our scale. We get to know children and parents over the course of several years.
STAFFING: The children spend more time with individual teachers than they might do in a larger school. The teacher and the child enjoy a sustained relationship that allows for a greater understanding of individual concerns and needs.
