All state schools now teach the National Curriculum. The National Curriculum consists of
nine subjects which all children must study at school.
3 Core Subjects: English, Mathematics, Science
7 Foundation Subjects: Geography, History, Music, Art, Physical Education, Design/Technology, Information Technology
In addition, schools offer Religious Education and daily collective worship.
Parents can decide whether they wish their child to take part in collective worship.
At Hazeldown we deliver all the National Curriculum subjects (together with cross-curricular
themes such as Health Education, Environmental, Multi-Cultural Education and Personal,
Moral and Social Education etc.) through a carefully planned programme of work at each key
stage. This programme incorporates topics, themes and the direct teaching of skills and
knowledge that some subjects require. |
