The school stresses the close links between the home, the child, the class teacher and the year group. A family atmosphere of caring is encouraged and although there are many opportunities for children to enjoy mixing with the rest of the school, most of the day is spent in teaching groups of between 20 to 30 pupils.

Everyone involved in the school strives to create a friendly working environment, to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which encourages all children to develop to their full potential. The staff and governors work as a team to respond to and take a lead in the many changes taking place in education in a positive and creative manner. The school aims to provide the best possible education for your children. Every effort is made to create the opportunities that will bring out the very best in all our pupils.

  • To provide a caring, safe environment for all our children and staff
  • To offer a high standard of education for every child
  • To offer a broad, balanced curriculum
  • To promote the development of the whole child
  • To promote Christian values and an awareness and understanding of other religions
  • To encourage the positive involvement of the parent/carer in their child's education
  • To provide a high quality learning environment to reflect the high standards we want to attain
  • To promote positive links with the school's community
  • To build strong links with the infant school and the college to promote continuity of education

The focus in our school is all about learning. Our first priority is to provide the right conditions for learning to take place and then build upon the learning that has already taken place in each child's life. We give children opportunities for 'seeing', 'hearing', and 'doing' learning and promote their own involvement in their own learning whether it is musical, mathematical, scientific, creative, etc. The children in our school experience a broad and balanced curriculum where learning is at the heart.
