  • To present the national curriculum at the three keystages (Foundation, 1 and 2) in a way that matches children's abilities, aptitude and stage of development.
  • To encourage kindness and understanding to one another, within the school, in order that children may develop positive standards for living in a community.
  • To develop children's ability to think creatively, consider a problem, discuss it, draw conclusions and to act on them.
  • To develop children's self confidence, to encourage initiative, and a high standard of personal behavior.
  • To develop good community relationships in order that the work of the school is clearly understood and that support and co-operation is channeled to the mutual benefit of all.


Children will be offered a variety of extra curricular activities during their time at Southway. Some of the clubs presently running are:- Recorder and Keyboard Groups, Football, Netball, and Gymnastics etc.
