Our curriculum is split into three different stages: Foundation (Nursery & Reception), Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2) and Key Stage 2 (Years 3,4,5 & 6).
All children follow a broad and balanced curriculum in accordance with the requirements of the National Curriculum. However, it is important to note that the requirements of the NC do not apply to children who are in the Foundation Stage - they follow a programme of Early Learning Goals.
Programmes of study provide a framework to ensure development and progression, and the school has developed a rolling programme. There are four core subjects:
- English
- Mathematics
- ICT
- Science
These subjects receive the majority of teaching time together with History, Geography, Music, Art, Design & Technology, Physical Education and Religious Education In addition, cross-curricular themes such as: health, personal and social education, equal opportunities, multicultural and environmental education are taught
